Elko Evans

Elko Evans was for many years the driving force behind Manoa Garden, an organic farming cooperative with a devoted following in the back of Manoa Valley.  He was also one of the primary teachers at Betty Gearen’s pre-Transition project, The Green House in Pauoa Valley.

He has since moved over the Ko’olau Mountains and setup shop in Waimanalo where he is working on innovative approaches to farming, gardening and innovative low-impact designs, like using disposed pallets for furniture making and gardening. He has also undertaken putting together a major sized aquaponics operation, and constantly works on a host of other Transition-oriented skills and projects.
