Dorothy Rose is a firm believer that “You are what you eat!” Founder of Dodi-Lishious Healthy Lifestyles, she implements her philosophy of creative cooking while educating people about healthy alternatives for nutrition and health, which she hopes will help her students learn how to make wise choices. By incorporating fresh, natural foods rather than pre-packaged meals, she shows her students how easy it is to prepare delicious food that is simple and nourishing.
Dorothy is a trained Ayurvedic cookery teacher and chef, and is now offering her healthy cooking classes through Transition University. She has shared her wealth of knowledge and delicious foods through cooking demonstrations at the Healing Garden Festivals, and the recent Chocolate Festivals. Dorothy also holds a Music Education degree in voice and chorus from UH-Manoa, and provides healing therapies as a musician and sound healing therapist.
Since her late teens, she wanted to be ‘off the grid’ before there was even a name for it. Dorothy has always felt compelled to become a self-sufficient individual, and has embarked upon learning many different skills, such as sewing and naturally healthy cooking with whole foods to fulfill her dream of not being dependent on anything but ‘natural resources’.
